For the investigators of the heritage house: I would loike to hear more about this story. I certainly have a belief that William
could be communicated with even though it seems like it has been unsuccesful, The simpliest explonation for this is the communication
itself. The finnish migrants in Minnesota did not adjust there language to the american
culture until the later, after the 30s. Instead many maintained Finnish or Fingelska (mixture of Finnish and English). Quickly
analyzing the story and especially the message (If Jesus could...) and the number of children we can make an assumption that
Pyhälä family comes from a religious background from Finland. More so, they generally
wanted to keepo their roots clear meaning that Finnish language should not be forgotten. Well, even the last name in Finnish
has a root to the word "HOLY" (PYHÄ, lä at the end being the addition for a place, simply holy place).
What I suggest with all this? In order to have possible communication get someone who has some knowledge of the culture as
well as the language. Please email me if any of you have studied this case and have further information. I would be glad to
help as much as possible.
