GHOSTS – WHAT ARE THEY, AND WHAT, IF ANYTHING, DO THEY WHAT WITH US MERE MORTALS? THESE ARE
THE QUESTIONS THAT CANTINUE TO FASCINATE YOU AND CHALLENGE YOUR IMAGINATION.
The Heritage House Embarrass
Minnesota Background: In the small town of Embarrass,
Minnesota, there is a very frightening legend behind a small stone building called The Heritage House. The small two stories
home is the center of talk about the ghost of a young boy who was drowned by his abusive father in the nearby river. The ghost
is said to roam the bridge that crosses that river. It is said that the boy was told by his father that, "If Jesus could
walk on water, so could he." The young boy is said to be William Pyhala and the river in question is the Embarrass River.
His family bought the Heritage House in 1909, six years after his father; Mikko Pyhala immigrated to the United States from
Finland. Mikko took his son to the river in 1916 and ended the child's life with his infamous quote. Mikko was a busy
man as he and his wife had 17 children with the last one being born in 1924. Since the death of young William, the locals
have investigated into the stories. It seems that William did die in 1916 by drowning in the Embarrass River however; there
are no records that show that his father had a hand in his son's death. Many of the Pyhala family reside in the area to
this date. Several eyewitnesses have reported hearing strange sounds while walking the shores of the Embarrass River. Some
have even claimed seeing a young boy lurking near the Embarrass River. They do believe this to be the spirit of William Pyhala.

The Lady in White Fort Wayne IN Some People say that in the 1880s, people
on downtown Main Street saw a woman wearing long flowing white garments walking seemingly oblivious to her surroundings. She
walked to the middle of the Main Street Bridge and then vanished. People thought she had jumped. The police were called but
they could not find anyone. A week or so later, she was spotted again with witnesses reporting the same thing. There was an
article in the newspaper they say. The story really caught people’s eye. If that caught people’s eye, what happened
next really set the community going the Lady popped up on a carriage with horses. According to the newspaper article, it seems
like she was out of control they say. The horses were just flying. Once again, she got to the middle of the main street bridge
and disappeared. The next time the police were ready for her. An officer approached the woman and she took off running through
West Central. They threw a blanket over her probably something to do with Victorian codes where you do not want to grab a
woman that sort of thing in an alley off College Street They say. In addition, as the report says the blanket fell to the
ground empty. The Lady in White is just one story you will be able to hear about ghostly Fort Wayne. It turns out Fort Wayne
is practically crawling with lost souls doomed to wander in a strange sort of half-life that is neither this world, nor the
next.
